UK-based Hydrographic Surveyor (IHO Cat-A / HPAS Level 1) – Offshore
We are looking for an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor to join our Survey department!
As new assignments continuously come in, we need to strengthen our team with a UK based IHO Cat-A surveyor to support our hydrographic survey campaigns onboard our vessels.
For this position, offshore work will be conducted onboard vessels owned by Njord Survey. The vessels typically operate in Northern Europe, with work conducted in two-week intervals followed by four weeks off.

Scope of work
At Njord Survey we have a set-up where the processing of data is carried out from the Gothenburg office while the vessel crew is responsible for collecting the data. Our lean crewed vessels typically have a crew of between 2 to 8 people depending on the vessel size and project.
This is a probationary employment applicable for up to six months, with the ambition to thereafter turn into a permanent employment. Upon joining us, you will primarily be used to working on projects in UK waters however work in Scandinavia and other areas of Europe should be expected.
You will be employed by our UK company, Njord Survey Ltd. The company currently consists of one Director and four employees.
The role as Surveyor at Njord Survey includes installation, configuration, calibration, and operation of survey equipment and software. Surveyors perform the necessary maintenance of all survey equipment and conduct troubleshooting during breakdowns.

Requirements:
- IHO Cat-A accredited or HPAS Level 1
- More than 3 years of offshore surveying experience
- You should have significant experience of working on Nautical Charting surveys
- You should be familiar with configuring and operating MBES systems
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- A valid driver’s licence is required due to operational logistical needs.
- Fluent in English
Merits:
