What made you decide to start working at Njord Survey?

I found out that Njord Survey was recruiting while searching for jobs as a geophysicist on LinkedIn, and I applied. I did not expect much from it, but I got the interviews and it was amazing to see a company willing to teach from the start their programs, their way of working and their values, giving a chance to those who didn’t have any experience yet. I was recruited as a Junior Geophysicist at Njord Survey and now after a year of training, I am a Geophysicist in their Geo-Team.

What was it to be a Junior first?

It was great! The pressure of not yet knowing every program was removed. From the beginning, every person in the Geo Department was willing to share their experience and knowledge, always available to answer every question I could have. It was an important step in this company as Njord Survey can be using programs that not a lot of company are able to offer, making them even more valuable to my eyes.

How could a typical workday look like?

It’s very different from day to day. My main responsibilities depend on what kind of project I’ve been assigned to. It can be interpretation textures and morphologies, working with Side Scan Sonar, Sub Bottom Profile, Magnetometer or even Drone datas. And of course, trying to find solutions when challenges come ahead in a project.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love a good challenge! If I know I encounter some difficulty in my project, I can spend hours trying things until finding the solution. The cooperation as well in the department, as I know that so many people have valuable experiences and are willing to give their input.

What do you like to do outside of work?

We have so many after-work activities with people from work! We like to watch movies, grab a drink, connect. And of course, I love sports and right downstairs there is a dance club where I’ve been practicing ballet 4 times a week. Very convenient when you work just upstairs!
